Pledge Update – April 2008:
The campaign has been blessed with $5.8 million in pledges to date. That means we are 58% of the way to our $10 million goal.
We praise God and thank the congregation for this remarkable outpouring of support as we seek to prepare Park Street Church for the next century of service.

Phase I – 2007 projects completed:
The replacement of the two elevators in One Park Street has been completed, and the exterior work including a new slate roof and the masonry restoration work on the Sanctuary building was completed just before this past Christmas.
Planning for Phase II – 2008:
Planning is moving forward to make more improvements to the church in time for the 200th Anniversary celebration in 2009. We will be improving the access and use of the sanctuary building by installing a new elevator which would serve the three main floors, improving the first floor Level by creating a new welcome center, and expanding restroom facilities adjacent to the welcome center. There will also be numerous accessibility improvements in addition to a new elevator, including wheelchair seating in the Sanctuary and improved life safety systems. All of these renovations are being done while retaining the historic character and integrity of the facility.
Demolition work in the area of the new elevator is already under way. Construction for the welcome center and handicap improvements is scheduled to begin on June 16th.

Responding to Your Input
The facilities committee received a lot of terrific feedback from the congregation at the January and February informational meetings, and then again at a revised plan showing at coffee time between each of the morning and evening services on March 16th. Nearly all of the input was with regard to the first floor and particularly with regard to the welcome center. Many of these suggestions have been incorporated into the final schematic design and the committee would like to thank everyone who provided the input for these changes. Some of the many revisions include:
-Preservation of visibility to all five windows in the welcome center
-Relocation of the hospitality kitchen into the welcome center
-Installation of a family/handicap restroom
-Ronconfiguration of the women's bathroom to improve the traffic flow
-Installation of changing stations in all restrooms
While the plans for Phase II have now been completed, we're still interested in hearing your comments and answering your questions. Click here to email the facilities committee of the church.
